Inventory management software
Inventory software should make stock easier to trust.
Inventory software is useful when it replaces several conflicting numbers with one shared quantity and a clear history. Invumi focuses on that operational layer: products, movements, inventory checks, alert thresholds and stockout forecasts when the movement history contains enough signal.
01
What the software needs to know
A useful inventory system starts with a small set of reliable facts: what the product is, how many units are available, where it is stored, which supplier is linked to it and why the quantity changed. Invumi keeps those facts together instead of forcing a small team to model a complete ERP before recording a box of gloves.
Every stock movement contributes to the history. That history is more valuable than a number edited in a spreadsheet because the team can see whether stock fell through normal use, an inventory correction or a new delivery.
- Shared product quantities
- Movement history and inventory checks
- Low-stock thresholds and target quantities
- Barcode lookup and CSV import
02
Forecasting comes after reliable movements
A forecast cannot repair bad source data. Invumi first records the movements that actually happened. When enough history exists, it estimates consumption and the date at which projected stock crosses the alert threshold. When there is not enough history, the product can fall back to an explicit monthly consumption value instead of inventing confidence.
The forecast is deliberately visible as an estimate. Teams still decide what to order and when. The software is there to surface risk earlier, not to pretend uncertainty disappeared because a chart exists.
03
When a larger system is the better choice
Invumi is not a warehouse management system, manufacturing suite or shipping platform. If your process depends on complex lots, picking routes, production orders, EDI, accounting or multichannel fulfilment, a broader product such as Odoo, Zoho Inventory, inFlow or Cin7 may fit better.
The trade-off is intentional. Small operational teams often need fewer workflows, faster quantity updates and a product people will actually open on a phone during the day.
04
A sensible migration path
Start with the products that regularly cause problems. Import an existing CSV, review the preview, define thresholds, then let the team record normal use. There is no benefit in migrating years of decorative spreadsheet columns before the five supplies that matter are reliable.
Once movements are consistent, alerts and forecasts become useful on top of the same data. That sequence is less glamorous than an enterprise transformation project and considerably easier to finish.
